Huawei unveils the Low-Cost Y5 II and Y3 II smartphones

The chinese smartphone giant Huawei has officially announced their next generation of low cost Y series devices:

Both the Y5 II and the ultra affordable Y3 II will be available in 3G and 4G LTE versions with different SoCs (all from Mediatek): they both feature 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal eMMC storage, Wi-Fi n with Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity and run the slightly outdated Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS with EMUI 3.1 UI.



Y5 II Specs:

The Y5 II 4G Has a Quad Core 64bit Mediatek MT6735P SoC clocked at 1.3Ghz and Mali-T720MP2 GPU at 400Mhz, while the Y5 II 3G has a slower 32bit Quad Core Mediatek MT6582MP With 4xARM Cortex A7 clocked at 1.3Ghz and Mali-400MP2 GPU at 500Mhz, they both share an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP selfie shooter, a 5" HD (1280x720) IPS screen and a 2200mAh battery. The chassis is completely made of plastic and is 8.9mm thin and weights 135g.


Y3 II Specs:

The Y3 II 4G has a more powerful 64bit Quad Core Mediatek MT6735M with 4xARM Cortex A53 clocked at 1Ghz and Mali-T720MP2 GPU at 500Mhz while the Y3 II 3G has the same Mediatek MT6582 as the Y5 II 3G, they both share a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP selfie shooter, a 4.5" FWVGA tn display (854x480) and a 2100mAh battery. This entry level phone is available in various colors and 9.9mm thick, a little more than the Y5 II.
